Día de los Muertos

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is observed each year on November 1 and 2 and celebrates the unity of life and death when the spirits of loved ones who have died return to earth to celebrate this holiday with friends and family. Unlike Halloween, with Día de los Muertos the skeleton represents the dead playfully mimicking the living and is not a macabre symbol at all. Our Organization, SOHO, produces the annual Día de los Muertos event each year and the Museum Shop honors this important holiday with a variety of traditional motif illustrated items, colorful ceramic skull beads, flasks and card cases, candles, artist designed and made figurines, beautiful jewelry, educational and fascinating books and more.
