More details on Hours & Admission

Tour the Whaley House at your own pace with a daytime self-guided tour. Our friendly, knowledgeable docents are available for questions and to provide more details about this home of a prominent pioneer family of San Diego and its various uses. Learn also of the more than a century old folklore surrounding the haunted history of the home. With most of San Diego's earliest buildings long gone, the ability of the Whaley House to illustrate how San Diegans lived in the 19th century, as well as being a tangible piece of early San Diego history, makes it one of the most interesting, important, and historically valuable structures in the city.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing to allow enough time to tour the house. No advance reservations are necessary for groups of less than 15.
